About the Role

Join our team as a Winemaker and play a key role across all stages of wine production — from grape intake through to final blend and bottling. Working closely with our passionate winemaking team, you will help ensure the consistent delivery of exceptional wines that reflect our commitment to quality, innovation and craftsmanship.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute technical expertise, leadership and creativity within a supportive and collaborative winery environment. You will be involved in all facets of the winemaking process while helping drive continuous improvement across winery operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Winemaking team across all stages of production — from grape intake through to final blend and bottling.
  • Coordinate and supervise cellar operations, ensuring work is carried out safely, efficiently and to high standards.
  • Monitor fermentation, additions, racking, blending, barrel management and other cellar processes.
  • Independently monitor and maintain wines within specification.
  • Contribute to quality control processes and sensory evaluation of wines.
  • Contribute to the management and continuous improvement of winemaking processes and practices.
  • Assist Cellar Supervisors with staffing coordination and scheduling work priorities.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with winery systems, HACCP, BRC and other regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute ideas and technical input into blending trials and wine style development.
  • Assist in organising external bottlings and related logistics.
  • Represent the company at trade and consumer events as required.
  • Build strong relationships and liaise effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Uphold high workplace health and safety standards throughout the winery and cellar operations..

Qualifications and Skills

  • A degree or diploma in Oenology, Wine Science, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Proven experience in winemaking or senior cellar roles.
  • Strong technical knowledge of fermentation, blending and cellar operations.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to guide and motivate cellar staff.
  • High attention to detail with excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with EZY Wine, compliance and reporting systems.
  • Experience with HACCP, BRC and winery compliance requirements.
  • Flexibility and stamina to thrive during vintage and busy production periods.
  • A genuine passion for fine wine and a collaborative mindset.
