About the Role

We are seeking a capable and proactive Electrical Engineer to support, maintain and improve the electrical, automation and control systems at our Tharbogang, NSW site. This is a hands-on role with a clear growth pathway, progressing from site familiarisation and operational support into project delivery, system modernisation, asset reliability improvement and, over time, technical leadership.Working closely with production, cellar and maintenance teams, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, safety and efficiency of winery operations. You will contribute to preventative maintenance strategies, electrical system performance, automation improvements and capital projects that enhance productivity, energy efficiency and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and improve electrical, automation and control systems across production and cellar operations.
  • Develop, implement and manage preventative maintenance programmes using JMS.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical, instrumentation and automation faults in a safe and methodical manner.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, isolation/LOTO procedures and site requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, energy efficiency, productivity and OEE.
  • Assist in the design, specification, installation and commissioning of electrical and automation upgrades.
  • Contribute to capital projects, equipment modernisation and process improvement initiatives.
  • Analyse equipment performance data and identify opportunities to improve asset reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, drawings, maintenance records and procedures.
  • Collaborate effectively with production, cellar and maintenance teams to minimise downtime and support operational objectives.
  • Participate in breakdown support, shutdowns and project work as required.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Strong experience in industrial electrical systems, maintenance and fault-finding.
  • Working knowledge of automation and control systems, including PLCs, drives, instrumentation and process control equipment.
  • Experience developing maintenance strategies and reliability improvement initiatives.
  • Understanding of electrical standards, safety systems and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a practical, hands-on approach.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively across operational teams.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Current driver’s licence.
  • Relevant industry safety training and certifications as required by the site.
  • Eligibility for membership or registration with a recognised engineering body is desirable.
